Tournament Schedule
The Club conducts three major tournaments per year as follows:
Sunday 15th September 2024 - one day open fours tournament.
Sponsored by Ultimate Tyre & Auto and Kangaroo Flat Sports Club
Saturday/Sunday 12th/13th April 2025
2-day Open Triples Tournament
The tournament started with brilliant sunshine and a field of 18 teams.
Players from Eaglehawk, Bendigo East, Sunbury, Inglewood, Golden Square, Mathoura, Flemington/Kensington, West Coburg, Nyah, Maryborough, North Bendigo, Harcourt, Webbcona, Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat were all treated to fantastic food, weather, greens and company.
With great prizemoney up for grabs, there was fierce, but friendly competition between rivals. But, at the end of the day, bowls was the ultimate winner.
This tournament would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the generous sponsorship from HIGH St X Ray, Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat Sports Club for all of the prizemoney, totalling $6,000. This amount allowed us to pay 3 prizes and 6 best games (one for each game). This enabled 9 of the 18 teams to pick up some money.
The Raffle consisted of 10 prizes from donors, Bendigo Bowls Shop, Woolworths and an anonymous donor.
The success of this tournament was largely due to the Kangaroo Flat Bowls Club volunteers, working tirelessly to keep the bowlers fed, ‘hydrated’ and happy. Without the kitchen staff, bar staff, grounds staff, green keeper and tournament staff, this weekend would not have been the success that it was.
Thank you to all attendees, volunteers, supporters and sponsors for making this a great event.
Much talk was toward the next year and hopefully more teams. Also, the condition of the greens was widely praised from bowlers.
